You can count on Champion Chem-Dry to provide:
Give Your Home an Immuno-Boost With MicroPro Shield™
A Safer Home. Greater Peace of Mind.
Kills Bacteria & Viruses on both Hard and Soft Surfaces
Our professionally-trained technicians will treat the surfaces of your home with
an EPA-registered disinfectant to disinfect hard surfaces and sanitize soft surfaces. We use specialized electrostatic equipment that allows us to fully cover surfaces without over-saturating them, so it won’t harm electronics or other sensitive items.
Our hospital-grade disinfectant is an industry-leading solution that is proven to be effective in eliminating viruses, germs and bacteria. Benefits of our disinfectant include:
Antimicrobial Protection For Up To 90 Days2
The MicroPro Shield package takes the health and safety of your home to a whole new level. Using the same electrostatic equipment, our technicians apply a protective antimicrobial coating to surfaces that were disinfected, inhibiting the growth and spread of microbes (bacteria and algae) on contact for up to 3 months.2
This patented technology creates a layer of spikes on surfaces that mechanically kill bacteria and algae by piercing and rupturing their cell membranes on contact, thereby inhibiting the ability for superbugs to grow.2
Benefits include:
Approved for use as an antimicrobial preservative under EPA and FDA regulations to preserve food contact surfaces2
It was Done Right Following All Protocols
Once our technicians have completed the Disinfecting & Sanitizing process and applied our MPS-90 Antimicrobial solution, we’ll provide you with a Certificate of Treatment certifying that your home was serviced following our guidelines and procedures along with recommended safety protocols. Our goal is to provide you with peace of mind that your home has been properly treated with our superior MicroPro Shield service.

The Chem-Dry MicroPro Shield Difference
Dwell/Contact Time
Dwell or Contact Time is the amount of time the solutions, including Vital Oxide, need to stay wet on a particular surface to properly meet the standards to either sanitize or disinfect.
Chemical Kill
Chemical kill is when a product kills microorganisms by chemically disrupting the microorganism, which in turn kills the microorganism. Vital Oxide is an example of a solution that provides a chemically-active process.
Mechanical Kill
Mechanical kill is when a product kills microbes by physically disrupting the cell wall, destroying them entirely. Mechanical kill does not allow for mutation into superbugs. Mechanical kill is also associated with long term protection and inhibits growth and spread of pathogens. BIOPROTECT RTU is an example of a product that implements a mechanical inhibition process.
Hard & Soft Surfaces
A hard surface is a surface that is generally nonporous – not penetrable or impervious to liquids and other spills. Some hard surface types are sealed surfaces like wood furniture, countertops, stainless steel, walls, appliances, hard flooring, etc. A soft surface is a surface that is generally porous – penetrable to liquids and other spills. Some soft surface types are carpet, upholstery, bedding and linens, etc.
Cleaning
Removes dust, food, oil and grime from surfaces by wiping, washing, scrubbing and rinsing. Does not guarantee removal of microbes like bacteria, viruses, and germs.
Sanitizing
Reduces the amount of microbes like bacteria and viruses to a safe level determined by public health codes – by using an approved sanitizer and following manufacturer’s instructions for use.
Disinfecting
Kills microbes like bacteria and viruses on hard, non-porous surfaces using an approved disinfectant and following manufacturer’s instructions for use.
Microbes are microscopic organisms that live in nature. Most are beneficial to life, but some can cause serious harm. There are six major types of microbes: bacteria, archaea, fungi, protozoa, algae, and viruses. Currently, Chem-Dry is only focused on bacteria and viruses. So, what is the difference between a bacteria and a virus?
Bacteria are tiny single cell microorganisms that can live in almost every environment. Viruses are microorganisms that are smaller than bacteria, but they are parasitic – meaning they require living hosts (such as people, plants, or animals) to grow and spread. Unlike bacteria, viruses can assume different shapes and sizes and cannot reproduce on their own but can survive on surfaces for a varying level of time.
The MicroPro Shield service by Chem-Dry disinfects/sanitizes surfaces with an EPA-registered disinfectant and then applies a microscopic layer of spikes that continue to kill microbes like bacteria on contact, keeping surfaces protected for up to three months.

A microbe is considered living if it can reproduce and survive on its own without a host cell long-term. Bacteria are simple, single celled organisms and their DNA is contained within a certain area of the cell called the nucleoid – making it a living microbe because it doesn’t require a host to reproduce and survive. Viruses are not considered to be “living” because they require a host cell to survive long-term. Viruses survive and reproduce by “hijacking” a host cell, and using its ribosomes to replicate and make new viruses. Viruses are essentially like a parasite, relying on a host cell to reproduce and survive. Also, some viruses can survive on surfaces for long periods of time.

MicroPro Shield by Chem-Dry protects against microbes by applying a residual antimicrobial layer for up to 90 days. This residual antimicrobial layer, provided by BIOPROTECT RTU, is a microscopic layer of spikes that continue to kill microbes on contact, keeping surfaces protected for up to three months! When these microbes like bacteria come into contact with the layer of spikes, the spikes mechanically kill them. The spikes pierce and rupture the microbe’s cell membrane, preventing microbes from mutating and adapting into superbugs. The MicroPro Shield process is sprayed using an electrostatic sprayer we call the AMP-360 to evenly spread the antimicrobial layer across entire surfaces, reaching far into hard-to-reach areas for an even 360 degree coverage.
The Centers for Disease Control has compiled significant information and resources regarding the current COVID-19 pandemic. Pages include details on the number of cases across the USA, details on symptoms and what to do if you show symptoms, and information on how to minimize your risk of contracting this virus. Additionally, the CDC offers suggestions for care and cleaning of facilities. At Chem-Dry, we partner with our clients to help them implement a care plan that follows the CDC’s guidelines for a healthier and safer facility.
*Based on EPA registration #s 87742-1-92595, 84683-3-74771, 70385-6 and 87583-2. Independent lab testing was conducted on hard non-porous surfaces including sealed stone and VCT surfaces. Bacteria and viruses tested include salmonella, influenza and E. coli. Sanitizers associated with EPA registration #s 87742-1-92595, 84683-3-74771 and 70385-6 have been approved by the EPA for use against the Novel Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19.
