The city of Tampa, in beautiful Hillsborough County, Florida is home to gorgeous parks, beautiful beaches, and fun-loving residents. Thriving business, great education and beautiful weather makes the city such a great place live.
Tampa residents and visitors alike enjoy amazing warm weather almost year-round. The best places to enjoy the weather are the local beaches like Picnic Island, Davis Island Seaplane Basin, or Cypress Point Park. Our sister cities of St. Petersburg and Clearwater also have incredible, white sandy, award winning beaches.
Besides the beach, Tampa’s parks are another way to get out and enjoy the weather. With over 150 parks there is no shortage of playgrounds, jogging trails, or picnic areas.
The area has some unique parks like Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, which is located on the Hillsborough River in downtown Tampa, and often hosts art festivals, children’s events, and concerts. Or Tampa Bay Boulevard Linear Park, which runs along Hillsborough Bay and has the world’s longest continuous sidewalk at 4.5 miles long.
From sprawling ranch homes on acres of properties to condos in high rises, to quaint bungalows, Tampa has the perfect home for everyone. For a place with a view of the water and skyline, downtown has some beautiful residential units.
The residents are friendly, outgoing and love to get together and celebrate. Celebrations include food and wine festivals, art festivals, music festivals, children’s festivals, and much more. There is almost always something going on in Tampa!
Two of the biggest celebrations are Guavaween and Gasparilla. Guaveen has been celebrated for over 20 years in the historic Ybor City in Tampa on the last weekend on October. This Latin-flavored Halloween involves a parade, costumes, concerts and much more.
Gasparilla, Tampa’s own version of Mardi Gras, has been celebrated since 1904. The Ye Mystic Crewe pirates “invade” the city of Tampa each year to kick off the celebration with beads, boats, parades and tons of fun.
When it comes to food and drink, the area boasts some top-notch restaurants, bars and breweries. The city is home to Bern’s with the world’s largest wine cellar, The Refinery with a James Beard nomination, and the world’s largest food truck rally. The Cigar City Brewing has rave reviews across the country.
There are several Major League Baseball teams that come to the city for Spring training. Tampa residents enjoy cheering on the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team.
Besides baseball, Tampa enjoys professional football, soccer and hockey teams. The Tampa Bay Rowdies, the local soccer team, has a unique die-hard group of fans (Ralph’s Mob) who make the games even more entertaining.
Tampa is a big town with a small town feel and a great place to live, work and have fun.
